About me

I’m a creative, curious storyteller with rigorous journalistic training and 10+ years of professional experience. I have a long track record of success in strategic communications, media relations and narrative writing that is clear, engaging and persuasive.

I got my start covering breaking and regional news at The Seattle Times, working closely with Pulitzer Prize-winning editors, photographers and designers to shed light on education inequality, environmental degradation and debates over policing for an audience of 5+ million each month.

Since then, I’ve worked in communications in multiple arts and higher education environments — leading a classical radio station’s website redesign and social media outreach, landing a Shakespeare festival’s bold, woman-led “Hamlet” in the pages of The New York Times, and most recently, elevating an Ivy League university’s reputation by netting top regional and national news coverage about its community engagement and impact-driven research.

What keeps me in communications? The rush of covering events on deadline. The conversations with readers who thank me and hold me accountable in equal measure. And the opportunity to meet and interview some of the most talented, interesting people in the world.
